Take Up Your Cross
The cross is the place where God’s will and your will cross.
The cross is the place where you die.
(Matthew 10:37-39; Mark 8:34-38; Luke 9:23-27)
Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself (not what I want, not what I feel, not what I think), and take up his cross, and follow me. 25For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through the one who empowers me within.
Gal 5:24 Those who are Christs have crucified the flesh. Crucify the flesh: the nature that we receive when we are born. 1 Cor 15:23 (the people that Jesus is coming back for). He is coming for those who are Christ’s. Rom 8:7-8 The carnal mind. Those who are controlled by their fleshly nature cannot please God. Gal 5:17 Our natural fleshly desires are contrary to the spirit of God. We have to deal with our sinful nature. The Christian life is a war and a battle. Rom 7:15 Read Paul’s experience with the flesh. I remember this battle with alcohol so well. Gal 5:19 The works of the flesh explained. Four categories: sexual immorality, occult, all wrong attitudes and relationships, sensual self-indulgence. 1Cor 3:3-4 Paul describes what carnality is when we do not follow Christ, but choose human leaders. Rom 6:6 Paul says that God has made a provision for us. 1 Peter 4:1-2 He who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin. This study are my notes from The Cross in my Life by Derek Prince.
